Use less “convenience items” like Lunchables or other pre-packaged foods for your lunch. Maybe try making yourself a sandwich at home and pack a piece of fruit and a snack with it. How’s that for easy? :)

If it’s yellow, let it mellow. If it’s brown, flush it down.

Well, all environmental problems are cause primarily by overpopulation. So, make sure you eat an organic diet and keep the unnatural chemicals you put into your body at a minimal. Then kill yourself in an unpolluted field so your body can serve as fertilizer and stop burdening the planet with consumption.

Oh, wear natural fibers so they decompose along with you.

“Being green” isn’t a solution, it’s a control gimmick that preys upon people’s will to do good. Our social design is fundamentally flawed and will continue to drain resources until its inevitable collapse. You want to help the world, it’s going to take more than recycling your soda cans.

For your school, though? I don’t know, you could teach yourself and people you know a skill that replaces the use of a product. Think about that. It’s always best to be able to do the basic things without the need of anything you have to buy.

Purchase these. In large quantities.

Avoid the car and travel by foot or bike when it’s feasible.

Does your family recycle? Does your school? If not, start a recycling program. Here some easy directions.

Do you have a vegetable garden at home? If not, start one. Growing fresh vegetables help you be green because you are eating more locally (not shipped in food).

My school and family does recycle and both have composts, i could start growing some vegetables in my backyard, thanks

@Guy123123 Sounds great. Especially since you already have compost.

MAC Chromacake, Landscape Green ;) (This is what they use to make Elpheba Green in Wicked the theatre show).

Seriously, added insulation in the walls and roof of your house will save a lot of wasted energy. Something that collects rain water and uses it for toilet, etc. Solar panels on roof.

Roll around in the grass right after you mow.

Use reusable sandwich and lunch bags rather than ziplocs or paper.

Walk ro ride a bike to local activities.

Don’t buy plastic water bottles; bring water in a metal water bottle.

When you’ve nearly emptied bottles of HBA products such as lotion, shampoo, conditioner – carefully cut the bottle in half and you’ll be amazed how much is still in there.

Use a soap like Dr. Bronners which is easy on the environment, and can be used in many ways.

Consider installing a high pressure showerhead to conserve water. You can also buy a shut-off valve showerhead for $5 which makes it easy to pause the water while you soap up.

Refuse plastic bags when you make purchases at stores. Either take your own or carry the item out unbagged.

Turn off lights that are not being used.

Just use common sense and don’t go overboard. Don’t waste, overuse, overindulge. Think before you buy. If everybody did this, we’d all be better off and we wouldn’t have to resort to the extreme.

Keep in mind the waste hierarchy: reduce, reuse, recycle. To help reduce waste in landfill you should first of all reduce consumption (don’t buy produce with plastic packaging etc), secondly reuse what you can, and thirdly recycle.

Avoid flying, and only buy locally sourced foods where possible. Some supermarkets list air-miles on their produce so you know how far it has travelled.

Try replacing your electrical appliances with non-electrical ones from Lehman’s.

1)Reuse, reuse reuse. A lot of things can be reused, for art especially.
2)Do not wash dishes etc. with running water. Use a container.
3) If you are planning to wash the driveway, see if it is goint to rain, wait till after rain, sweep it just before it gets dry.
More to come.

Use washcloths, green scratchpads & sponges instead of paper towels. Use cloth napkins instead of paper napkins.

I was surprised how easy it was to make my paper towel budget exactly $0/year.
