How do you import music in Final Cut Express 4?

Asked by Jeremycw1 (1370points) May 2nd, 2010

So, I am trying to import some music in to my project from itunes, but i don’t know how. When I tried selecting “import” then “files” it wouldn’t let me import .m4a music.

How can i get music in my project?!?!?!

Thanks for the help!

When you add it, can’t you just drag the file from the finder to where you want it in the project? I believe the “import” command is for movie files.

Are you making sure to open up the file type to “All Files” in the Import Files box?

Yeah, I checked all files, then selected and .m4a song and then pressed ‘import’. but then a popup came up that said “File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown. I just did a “file” “import” so i don’t know if there is a different way to get it in there.

Final Cut doesnt like .m4a, regardless if you check ‘all files’.

Convert it to .mp3 and you’ll be good to go.

heres a good audio converter if you dont have one, its free too.
