What's a good website to find insect orders/identifications (science project:P)

(something that lists orders and scientific names along with specific common names—and descriptions)

I’m sure there’s a website specifically for doing this, but failing that, you could always use Wikipedia. Here’s the entry for the common house fly, for example:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Housefly

You can see the scientific classification in the right-hand sidebar.

It may not be comprehensive, and remember that anyone can edit Wikipedia so you should try to cross check it elsewhere if it’s important.
