I would suggest finding a position to stand or sit in that feels less painful. For me, it was standing straight up that would sometimes relieve the pain of the cramps. Also, heating pads are good when applied to your stomach. If you do not have a heating pad, a washcloth dipped in hot water and wrung out will help. I also have heard of women using hand warmers and tucking them in their pockets an underwear if they need to be out and about.

Fill a sock with rice, tie it off, and stick it in the microwave for 2 minutes. Apply to cramping area. Laying down normally helps, although it’s always different if my side or back or stomach helps the most. Drink cool/cold water and apply an ice pack to your forehead. That’s about it for the non-drug route…

Heat Compress! I suggest going to Wal-Mart or CVS/Walgreens and picking up one of these suckers. They’re called Bed Buddies, they’re under $20, and amazing!

EATING. eating lots and lots of food.
– usually sweet foods help me best but a lot of my friends tell me that they think citrus foods work the best and a nice steaming hot bath.
