How do I update Outlook Express on Mac?

My guru updated the OS and I added the patches, but apparently the OE 2.1 is antediluvian. I checked out www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx but MS provided updates for antiquated Mac OS (8 and 9) only. Is this something I can do myself as a tech-moron, or do I need a guru? And how can I find the info
