Which digital tough camera or tough cam do you recommend?

Asked by loveurmindnsoul (380points) May 23rd, 2010

I’m looking to buy a durable camera that is waterproof, shockproof or weather proof. I’m looking to spend under 300$

Which brand/model do you recommend getting?

I want to take my point and shoot on adventures such as underwater, rock climbing, hiking, snowboarding, outdoors and basically survive the wrath of little kids.

Instead of shopping for an underwater camera for $300… which, all you will find are cheap disposables, buy an underwater case for your camera. Since you didn’t say what camera you have now, I’ll just recommend a sight that sells the best waterproof cases for cameras/ipod/etc. http://www.otterbox.com/ & here is another site that sells waterproof cases. http://www.waterproofcases.net/

Olympus Stylus Tough Digital Camera is the best waterproof and shockproof camera you can get for the money ($300).

Looks like the company, DiCapac makes a waterproof case for that camera. May be something to consider before buying a new camera. It cost about $100.
