Can the Orlando Magic team comeback and take four in a row from the Celtics?

Asked by BoBo1946 (15325points) May 25th, 2010

Don’t get me wrong…I’m a Celtic fan, but the Celtics are an old team. Also, the Magic’s are a very talented team. All the years I’ve been watching the NBA playoffs, think the Magic could be the first team to ever win a playoff series that were down 3–0!

Again, I love my Celtics…but, I’m nervous! loll

What do you think?

I certainly hope not. Go, Celtics! Go, Red Sox!

@Primobabe oh, without saying..but, in the overtime last night…the Celtics “ran out of gas!” Their age bothers me…oldest team in the NBA!

@BoBo1946 All true. But I doubt that the Magic will take four straight games. Maybe it’s wishful thinking, but I don’t think that the Magic can do a repeat of (drumroll) the 2004 Red Sox :-)

@Primobabe ahhhhhh….sure hope you are right!

and, the Red Sox series, maybe the greatest ever!

Anything is possible, but you must remember that Boston still has a home court advantage in the series.

@njnyjobs got’cha…hopefully, they can pull it off. They really needed the rest…and believe me, if you saw the game last night, they played their asses off to win it. got my fingers crossed!

@BoBo1946 I like the way you think! It’s difficult (impossible?) to choose the best moment of those four games. Was it Dave Roberts on the base path? Was it Big Papi coming through in the clutch? Was it the Bloody Sock? Was it when A-Rod tried to pull a bush-league move that earned him the nickname of “Slappy”? Maybe it was just watching the petulant looks on Slappy’s post-game face?

@Primobabe hey, any of those..think the Yankees wanted their money back from A-Rob after that series!

I find it highly unlikely. Sigh.

BoBo1946's avatar

@marinelife sigh….well, “tooty fruity”....you want to explain your sigh!!!!!!

i do know little about the game of basketball…hide and watch what happens! Don’t think you realize how good Orlando is..you shall see when it goes to the 7th game…a coke on it…put your money where your sigh is…sport!

after all, you could have said, you make a good point with your comments, but….here is my view…but, a sigh…whatever!

marinelife's avatar

@BoBo1946 I sighed because I just moved from living in Orlando for five years when I kind of got into the Magic and following them. I was sighing with regret because it would be an amazing comeback to see, but I find it unlikely. Never, in the history of the NBA, has a team come back from 0–3 deficit.

BoBo1946's avatar

but, the Red Soxs were down 3–0…i think they can do it.

apologize for my misreading your comment.

@BoBo1946 Two down, two to go.

BoBo1946's avatar

@marinelife yeah, really think they are going to do it…the Celtics are old…they are wearing down! If they stay off Rondo and make him shoot from the outside and stop his penetration, think they will win it..Rondo is the key in game 6. Going to be one helleva knock down and drag out Friday night. The Celtics know if it go back to Orlando, they are beat. Looking forward to this one.

@BoBo1946 My optimism is rapidly fading. But, I’m hoping that a 48-hour break will reinvigorate the tired Celtics. Please, please…they need to win just one game!

BoBo1946's avatar

@Primobabe if they don’t win in Boston…maybe church….keeping my fingers crossed and sending them the luck of the Irish! i’m sure that will work..lolll
