Do you have personal experience of good family accomodations in Yosemite?

Asked by YARNLADY (46379points) May 25th, 2010

We want to have a family reunion in Yosemite and need a great condo or cabin. Please, no ‘google’ suggestion, only personal experience. There will be approximately 10 adults and 5 children.

Check out the cabins they have for rent. There are loads of these accommodations in the valley. Some cabins are very simple, just electricity and beds, while others have a full bathroom. I’ve stayed in both types and I thought they were great. Just don’t expect anything super fancy and I think it should be fine. The fun thing is that when you go with a large group (I went two different times with groups from high school), you can try to get cabins near each other and it feels a little bit like being in a little village.

@MissAnthrope “they” who? I have seen so many listings I can’t figure out what is what. If you mean the cabins in Yosemite park, all I can find seem to be tent cabins. We will have several children and at least three handicap adults, so it can’t be too primitive.

I was a teenager so I didn’t make the reservation myself, but I believe you rent them from the park. They have tent cabins, but they also have the ones that I described.

Curry Village (you’re looking for the cabins with bath)

My son spent 3 months there doing serious climbing, between his junior and senior year in college. I sent mail to something called “tent city.” This is probably not what you want. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.
