What makes a good hd tv

the best is a 1080P tv, or so I think and really good satellite or cable connection, probably Fios

A wide variety of inputs, sharp picture, true colors, good warranty, minimum 1080i resolution. Plasma or LCD.

They just did a special on the news about the availability of parts and customer service. The off brands seem like a good deal till a simple part on the tv goes and its impossible to get a new part.
I think the contrast ratio is one of the most important things to consider. Pictures never look very clear when blacks aren’t very black, everything looks hazy.
