What are the classic accordion songs?

Asked by sliceswiththings (11723points) June 4th, 2010

I am a relatively beginning accordion player, and I want to learn more classics. All I know so far is Lady of Spain, and I’m having trouble finding others. What titles should I look for?

P.S. Look for my accordion and me on the streets of Provincetown this summer!

You will find classics like: Sparkling, Quick Silver, The Jolly Caballero, Flight of the Bumble Bee Dizzy Fingers, Accordiana. Look for writers and arangers like Pietro Diero, Frosini, Magnante, Find references to these artists and you will find a ton of classical music for accordions.

How about the theme from “The Godfather”, aka Softly My Love.
If you can’t play “Lady of Spain”, you’re not an accordionist.
