How can I make my picture the background for my youtube channel?

I tried but it didnt work. So I resized to fit the image size and it still didnt work. I went to Theme and Colors. Then I went to New theme and I clicked on Background Image and it worked with a random wallpaper but why doesnt it work with my picture? please help:) thankS:P
