How to restore default ntfs disk settings in OSX?

Asked by zarnold (708points) March 17th, 2008

I had MacFUSE for a bit, but I got tired of the slow transfer speeds, so I decided to just stick with OSX’s default read-only ntfs access. The problem is, I used a bad uninstall script for MacFUSE/NTFS-3G, and it doesn’t seem to have properly uninstalled. Does anybody know how I might restore the NTFS settings to default in OSX?

(When I try to mount the disk in Disk Utility, I get the error message that “could not execute /usr/local/bin/ntfs-3g!”). I don’t think deleting these files will necessarily solve the problem, because the system appears to be set up to use these config files and not the default NTFS read ones. Any way I can change this?

Thanks!
