Has anyone ever used one of those cleaning products for the outside of your windows?

Like this one http://www.windex.com/products/outdoor-all-in-one/?sid=SEM&cid=Google by Windex. And, I understand there are some you can just attach to a garden hose and no wiping at all? I want to know if they work well, and if you had a preference for a certain brand. Or, should I just hire someone to do it? Also, did it kill any of your plants near the windows? Do I have to cover them?
