If you have a Barnes and Noble Nook I would love to hear about your experiences with it and why you like it.

What if you have a Nook and hate it?

Randy's avatar

My roommate has one and he loves it.

@Ivan If you have one and hate it I’d like to know why.

@Randy Could you get him to maybe write up a little bit about why he likes it?

Funny, but my family has crooks and nannys. I have no opinion about them one way or another.

The Amazon Kindle is better. Just saying.

@Bluefreedom I agree. The other eReaders are getting better, but Kindle is still the reigning champ imo.

my nanny is a crook but i love her anyway, and the amazon kindle and the ipad are the best e-readers from what i have seen…

@Bluefreedom and @drClaw So why is the Kindle the better reader?

drClaw's avatar

Well all the eReaders essentially have the same cost and the same basic features. What makes the Nook appealing (color touch screen) is actually a negative more than anything. It lowers the battery life immensely, uses an underdeveloped touch technology that is slow/choppy and unfortunately the interface it is built to interact with is extremely unorganized. Really the only thing that the Nook has that the Kindle doesn’t is a SD slot for memory expansion, but that alone doesn’t make up for it’s slowness and reduced battery life.

At the end of the day the Kindle 2 from Amazon is boring looking and left without any flashy features, but the basic (non flashy) features are faster, well thought out and generally executed better than those of the Nook. Not to mention the battery life is insane!

Thanks @drClaw. I do have to agree with you from my short interaction with the Nook and Kindle. I just didn’t want to base my decision with a first impression so quickly ya know?

@justn I totally agree, you never know what quirks you missed when you you’ve only had a short amount of time to use any type of gadget.
