Do You Like the Mornings or Bedtime More?

Asked by Aster (20023points) June 14th, 2010

When I was young, I loved Jumping out of bed, racing downstairs for cereal then running outside and jumping on my bike (summer vacations, that is). Bedtime was Not something I liked. Now, however, getting up is mildly depressing while facing the dark of night and the prospect of retiring is really nice.

I like mornings more as that is the time I have to myself as I get up early. I hate bed time as sleeping to me is such a waste of time. I know I need more of it but I refuse to succumb to the Sandman! lol!

I like the sleeping part in between.

It’s a tough one… If I’m not woken up by an alarm clock (or my children), nothing beats the feeling of getting up rested on a beautiful sunny morning knowing that the day is yours to shape and possibilities are (almost) endless! I usually can’t wait to get out of bed and not miss a minute of it!

Equally, falling asleep in a comfortable bed after a good day, recalling all the day’s memories is a wondering feeling :).

I’m a night person, so waking up is like Hell for me. Love sleeping in and staying up late, but it’s hard when you have to be to work at 7 in the morning!

I am a morning person. I love waking up to a new, fresh day.

I’m a bedtime person. Mornings make me anxious and night time is when I finally start to feel at peace.

@Leanne1986 I’m exactly the same way. Sad.

I love the morning, especially when I’m the only person awake. It’s so peaceful to watch the sunrise, and I enjoy drinking my coffee.

@deni and what would you consider an exciting day? I can’t imagine one.

Mornings. They happen at all hours for me.

Reverting back to my high school days… mornings would be absolute hell. I had to get up around 6 AM during the week. I remember sitting in bed in the morning and trying to come up with any way to get more sleep. It would go something like: “Can I miss first period today?... No, no I can’t.” Then I’d drag myself out of bed. I’d often wake up and think, “I wanna kill myself right now just so I wouldn’t have to get up.”

I usually went to bed late too, so when I finally settled under the covers and sunk into my bed, I would get the biggest grin on my face. It was pretty much the closest thing to bliss I knew during those 4 years :D All the stress and tension and exhaustion of the day would melt away… I still think there’s nothing better than my bed after a long day.

@Aster umm. any day when i see my boyfriend or have something planned with friends or i’m going camping or hiking or i know i get to hop on my bike and ride home as soon as i wake up. but especially this summer, i’m going a bunch of places so every morning will be exciting.

@deni ok, well That certainly explains excitement!!

I go to sleep in the mornings, so its hard for me to answer this question. But I still jump out of bed. I never understood people that have to stay in bed for thirty minutes to pump themselves up to get up and start the day ;P
I hate going to bed.

I suffer from insomnia and find the most peaceful time to sleep is between 4–8am. There’s something to be said for spending an evening eating at leisure, showering, kicking back with my partner, loving and then seeing more blue come to the sky than stars which signals cuddle up and drift off time, thankful together.
