How can i know what format my video is?

I need .mov but I dont know how to find out the format. Do I go to properties or what? THANKS:)

Look at the file extension. You can probably see it under properties. There is a function somewhere that enables you to turn the file extension ‘on’ or ‘off’ so you can either see them or have them hidden. That would be a more permanent solution.

If using windows.

Right click on the object. Choose properties. Bingo.

@ChazMaz & @lilikoi I tried and it doesnt tell me
it tells me with what to open it and what date i made the video but it doenst tell me the format

When in Properties. Do you get at the top , general, security and details tab?

If not in general try details.

It should (in general) show the name with a file extension. Like: Picture.mov

I have General tab and Summary tab
In summary tab I tried details and it tells me the imga heigh/ audio and everyhting about the video except the format.
iN the general tab it says it is BS player file and when it is made
i clicked on hidden bbut all it did was make my icon on the desktop transperent

GSpot will tell you not only what file type it is, but what codecs you’ll need to play it.
