Non marrieds, do you celebrate your first date as an anniversary of sorts?

Asked by Neizvestnaya (22657points) July 3rd, 2010

It’s been a decade since I’ve had someone to celebrate but my partner and I are coming up on a year together. Other partners and I used to celebrate our first dates every year and it was a lot of fun- kind of a chance to tell the other person the things you’re thankful for since they’ve been part of your life. That was in my 20’s and 30’s so I’m not sure if this is silly to think of doing now that I’m older?

Mu husband and I celebrated our first date when we were dating. Now we tend to celebrate our wedding anniversary instead, but sometimes one of us will make note of the anniversary of our first date as well.

My girlfriend and I celebrate the anniversary since our first date. On that date every month we try to set aside time to talk, and we have our own traditions that will be repeated for each year. We are coming up to two years soon, so we are in a different position to yours, but I think it is something worth celebrating.

Me and my girlfriend celebrate our first “outing” as an anniversary of sorts.

You’re never to old to celebrate cherished memories especially with someone who is a part of your life. Go for it and make it special.

Yes. I’m romantic that way. But I admit – I pencil it in my calendar so as not to forget.

I remember it everyyear but we don’t exactly celebrate it.

Before we were married we did it all the time, for years. Ok, we didn’t so much celebrate, but we went out to eat. :)

@NaturallyMe
We went ahead and celebrated with a nice day off together- brunch, mani/pedis, house hunting and then a very nice dinner. :)

@Neizvestnaya – that sounds fun! :D Eating out is a MUST when i’m celebrating something…hehe.

@NaturallyMe
I really enjoy to eat out the kinds of meals I know I can’t make well myself and of course having a gorgeous atmosphere and service is a real treat.

@Neizvestnaya – agreed 100%! :D We almost never go out to eat – husband thinks it’s a waste of money, sheesh (other than on his & my b’day and on our anniversary, so i really cherish eating out days! Hehe. :)
