I don’t think so. I know my piercer advised against it when I got my lip pierced. The water can easily cause an infection.

It’s fine. Do it

I would wait a couple of weeks, at least. Most piercings need about six weeks to fully heal. A lake is pretty much a pool of stagnant water, with hints of freshness! Then again, one ear would look pretty sweet. You could give your ear to someone special. Remind you of anyone?

How bad would an infection be really?

I think you’re probably fine, just clean it thoroughly afterwards. I mean, it might also depend on the lake. While all lakes are full of yummy bacteria, I wouldn’t take your open wound for a dip in any body of water known by the locals as Duck Shit Pond.

I wouldn’t do it, but you might like having an infection on you ear. It would be unique.

Depends on the lake, but I’d advise against it. And an infection can be very unpleasant.
