What does the phrase "crossed in love" mean?

I’m fairly sure what it means, I just don’t know how I’d word it.
Context: In Pride and Prejudice, Mr. Bennet says “Your sister is crossed in love, I find. I congratulate her. Next to being married, a girl likes to be crossed in love a little now and then.”
So how could I re-write that in a more understandable way?
