Would you do volunteer work at this FM radio station?

Asked by john65pennington (29258points) July 7th, 2010

Back in the early 60s, i was a disc jockey at several radio stations in my city. since i have retired from my police job, the manager of a college FM radio station has asked me to sit in as a dj during the summer vacation of the students. i first started to jump at his request, then i remembered this is a volunteer job. meaning, up early in the morning, driving approx. 25 miles each way and meeting the morning and afternoon commute traffic. this could be expensive. whats your opinion? yes or no?

Yes, of course, it is something you obviously like(d), and the costs…, they wouldn’t be that high, or would they?
And you initially jumped at the thought, so i guess your heart told you already what to do.
Do it. That is not an order.

Rebbel, you are correct. it has played a big part of memory, since i retired. maybe, its the obligation i am concerned about. right now, i am enjoying my freedom of just being me. i still have a choice to make. thanks all for the answers. 88.5 FM on the internet WVCP-FM, playing the super oldies 24/7, since 1979.
