What is the stuff in computer air duster?

Asked by XOIIO (18328points) July 9th, 2010

I noticed spraying it upside down made a big white fog. I made a small chamber and put leaves into it, and it flash froze them However, there was a clear liquid that qould drip out, and it froze stuff almost instantly. What is it?

WARNING: vapor harmful. Contains 1,1,Difluoroethane 75–37-6.

That’s from the product label on the can in front of me. I can’t tell you the exact molecular structure from all of that, but basically, it’s a fluorocarbon, same class of chemicals as refrigerants.
