Why did LeBron James move to Florida?

Asked by ItsAHabit (2302points) July 12th, 2010

Florida imposes no state income taxes. Do you think that LeBron James is moving to Florida, at least in part, to escape state income taxes of over $2,000,000 per year?

That’d be enough reason for me, as much as I hate Florida.

what is so special about LeBron James that makes him worth talking about?

I don’t even know who that is or why anyone cares.

My son – the source of most of my sports opinions – thinks the Miami Heat are trying to build a super-team similar to Phil Jackson’s Bulls when Jordan and Pippen were on it.

@BoBo1946 That’s why my son was saying he was going there.

@janbb you have a wise son! In the next 7 years, they should win 3 or 4 NBA championships.

@ItsAHabit in this case, not about the money! Know you find that unbelievable, but all three of these superstars, Labron’s, Chris, and D Wade will take some paycut to buy more players, as you have to stay under the salary cap, and this will mean several NBA championships. Over time, they will get that money back and some!

All three have more money than they will ever spend…this move is about a championships! And by winning championships, D Wade and Labron will establish their legacy….not to mention, the Hall of Fame! By winning championships, these two, would be considered amoungst the greatest that ever played the game! Along with Majic, Bird, Michael, Bill Russell, Oscar, etc…

LaBron James will save over two million dollars a year by moving. What about Tiger Woods? Did he move to Florida to save megabucks in state income taxes?
