Any suggestions of a fun vacation spot for singles?

Asked by delta77 (196points) July 14th, 2010

My buddy and I want to go on vacation somewhere where we can meet other singles. Are there such vacation places that exist? I was told that Club Med had a singles vacation getaway thing. Have you been on this or have you been on anything similar? What are the company names that put these together?

I’ve heard that some cruise lines have singles cruises, you could look into those.

There are so many different places full of singles in the Pacific Beach or Del Mar area of San Diego, I suggest you could try there. The advantage is that there are activities that are low price, or free, and enough variation to fit every interest.

I found this list of the top 10 cities with the most singles: 1. San Francisco, CA 45
2. Detroit, MI 44 New York, NY 40 4. Boston, MA 39 5. New Orleans, LA 39 6. Los Angeles, CA 38 7. Fort Lauderdale, FL 37 8. Las Vegas, NV 38 Miami, FL 37
10. Albuquerque, NM 37 These are approximate percentages and probably vary from time to time, but these will remain the same, in general.

I went to Club Med in Guadeloupe (with a boyfriend) years ago and had a wonderful time. If I had been alone, there were many male staff members happy to volunteer for any activity (and I mean any).

I see that the resort in Guadeloupe is primary designed now for families. The one on Martinique may be a better choice.

You might want to check out Hedonism Resorts. A friend went there on vacation, met a woman, and they continued to see each other after the vacation, despite living on opposite ends of the US. They’ve now been married for 15 years and have 2 children.

I went to Club Med Cancun a long time ago, 15 years ago more or less, and there were many singles at that location back then, I assume it is still the case.

For cruises I usually use this site http://www.vacationstogo.com/singles_cruises.cfm

South Beach. Not sure why I didn’t think of that before. You could spend two days and then leave out of the port of Miami on a cruise for a few days. Southeast FL has a lot of singles floating around, and so does NYC.
