Would you like to say thank you?

Asked by filmfann (52220points) July 14th, 2010

Every day we have moments where nice things happened, and we didn’t say thanks. Here is your chance!
I will start by saying thank you to that guy who let me pull into traffic today, when the crazy man was walking towards my car.

This reminds me of how I keep bitching because nothing cool ever happens to me and how I’m all depressed and angry, but I’m actually pretty thankful that most of my life is mundane and boring, because it could be so much worse. I’m thankful for not being tortured, oppressed or living out on the streets.
The only reason I usually don’t acknowledge this is because I’m a wuss. If I have time to complain, then it must mean I’m happy.

I’m also thankful for beer and my PSP. And horror movies.

I want to thank my mother and aunt for helping us with multiple birthday parties for our oldest child – they bought all the things for the pre-school party and the cupcakes and all the decorations – I hate buying this kind of stuff and they love it.

Thanks to my boss for letting me sit on my butt all day and do paperwork instead of running around in a hot store sweating and being mad about it. Her name is Malissa and she’s an awesome boss and I’m thankful for that too!

Thank you to my mom: for doing many things that improved my life even though they were difficult for you.

Thank you to my former co-worker: you improved my life just being you. You are an example of the kind of person I wish I could be.

Thanks to my family for providing a stable, loving environment to grow up in, and for passing on all the tools (knowledge, interests, love of the arts, and so much more) that have sustained me through the years. And thanks to all my friends who have accepted and loved me for who I am.

@filmfann, great question!

Wow. Really? Thanking people for what the have done for you, on Fluther? Weird idea. Whatever happened to thanking people in person. And those you can’t thank personally surely aren’t reading Fluther.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@Sueanne_Tremendous I think it’s a good idea – certain thank yous we can no longer say.

Thank you to Fluther for being here and allowing me to procrastinate doing my school work. :-)

I already said thank you to everyone in person today that I needed too.
