What's the deal with sneezing fits?

Asked by tranquilsea (17775points) July 19th, 2010

My mom suffered from them for most of her adult life. And now, so do I. They snuck up on me a couple of years ago. They don’t happen often but when they do they are very irritating. I sneeze over a period of 10 minutes with about 10 to 15 sneezes through that time. Then they go away.

I don’t believe have allergies.

Does anyone know why these happen?

It sounds like an allergy to pollen.

Except I’m usually inside when it happens.

You are not alone. they are hereditary. i received my sneezing fits from my father. the most i have ever sneezed at one time, is 13. you really have to be careful, when one attacks you while driving. mine occur about every two days. i have learned to live with it.

AHHHHHHHH,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,CHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

I was wondering if they were hereditary. My mom used to get them driving too and she would have to pull over until they ended.

The first sneeze isn’t bad. The 13th one is awful.

It has nothing to do with allergy. My dad has the same for 20 years now at least. I’m 30 and nowadays I have a “rush” too. I kind of like it, I feel better always after the sneeze-wave.

I like to believe they are allergies. Asian people believe you have sneezing fits when other people are saying bad things about you.

@Luffle It could be a rare type of allergy, anyway I love that thing about Asian people, that they have a simple explanation about almost everything. :)
