San antonio-- what parts of town should i stay out of?

Asked by natalo (11points) July 20th, 2010

well, i’m going to texas to see a couple of friends from school. i’ve never been to san antonio before and although my gps gets me where i’m going, it doesn’t always keep me out of the places that i really shouldn’t be in. so tell me, texans, any streets, etc. that i should stay away from?

Stay away from the Brackenridge Park woods at night or day time if you are alone. Also I would stay clear of down town San Antonio late at night. I lived in San Antonio for 2 years. I hated it at first but soon grew to love it. Have a safe and fun trip!

Cherry Street is where all the hookers congregate. The South Side and East Side are notorious stomping grounds for gangs and drug lords. Hollywood Park is full of mean elderly retired military. Travis Park downtown (bus change hub) scares me all the time. Other than that, it’s an okay town.
