Is intelius.com really good and informative when it comes to wanting to know who's really calling you, where they live, etc?

Asked by ladyv900 (713points) July 23rd, 2010

I might register for this just to know exactly who’s been calling on my cell phone and sometimes he calls on private.I already got the age and I’m very shocked and I want to register for this to get full information on this person and where they really live. Is this the best one or is there another cell phone look up website that is even better?

I wasn’t at all impressed with the service. Once I signed up and payed, which is the only way you can get the full reports, I did some searches on some very close friends of mine, people I know very well, and I would say a good 50% at least, if not closer to 75% of the information in their databases was just flat out wrong. One friend who is married, for 25 years to the same man, with four children was listed as being single with two children; another friend who is an atheist IT executive with a Masters degree, well his information indicated that he was a Jewish civil servant with only a high school education, and so on and so on as I looked more people up. The only information that was almost always correct for everyone I looked up was age and address and that information you can get a lot of places. It’s just another site that aggregates data from other databases but doesn’t do anything to ensure that the data they have is correct. I would steer clear of them.

@lilycoyote Well, is there a better website that gives better results?

There’s also 123people.com but I’ve never found these sites to be completely accurate either. If you are planning to pay for the service, you might be disappointed. There’s usually nothing there that you can’t find on your own through some research on the Internet or public records.

No. They will say that they have the name, address, etc. about the person with the telephone number you provide. Truth is they may give you information that’s 15 years old rather than current information.
