Has anyone ever experienced "sleep paralysis"?

This is something I experience quite often. This is when during your sleep your rapid eye movement (REM) ceases and your mind wakes up, however your body continues to sleep causing you to unable to move. Sometimes I’ll be able to see around my room (this is a dream because my eyes aren’t actually open) But I’m aware of what’s going on during this and I’m unable to wake myself up. It usually lasts a minute or two but it’s kind of scary… Has this happened to anyone else?
