I have looked at the entire picture from many different angles and can’t help but notice that things are turning around. Does anyone else see it or…...

I don’t think the future’s so bright (that) we gotta wear shades. Sorry for my pessimism but I can’t see clearly not the rain’s not gone, there are so many obstacles in my way. Not gonna be a bright sun shiny day for a long time, I think.

I feel it’s getting a LOT better!

No, with the exception of picking up a dreamhome cheap.

@Aster Damn it! I’m even on to that! We found our dream home on Sunday, and it’s within our reach financially, but….I’m hesitating…..

Why are you hesitating?? I hope you don’t hesitate too long and someone else gets it. That would be an awful feeling.

I do, but it will mostly be for my grandchildren and great grandchildren. I fully expect to live to see my 100th birthday (and beyond) and I’m sure they will be happy.

One need only look at history to realize that little by little bit, things are getting better. Once upon a time there was no such thing as reasonably objective justice, disciplined science, education/literacy as a commonly recognized value (well, except perhaps in US public schools, but everywhere else). Once upon a time, people drank the same water that they shit in. Now they know better. And so on and so on. Everyday people know something new that enlightens them just a little more. As long as people are free to experiment and ask questions, things will get better.

Yes, if I wake up in the morning! Everyday above ground is a great day!

Is this a line from the ‘rocky horror picture show’?

Possibly, but do not want to jinx it so I will say no more.

Thanks for the heads up. It seems my evil plot to enslave and depress you all is needing a tune up. Just keep on thinking everything is getting better. I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve still to come, and bah-leeve me, things can get much worse.

Well, I just got a full-time job (right here at Fluther!) after more than a year of looking. My teenager has also just gotten a job. Yes, I’d say things are looking up for us at the moment. :)
