Any ideas for desserts for a crowd?

My hubby’s got a ‘section’ picnic next week (a bunch of scientists) they decided that the “boys” will make dessert… and then the “girls” will judge whose dessert is best

I’m a competitive person, so of course, if it’s being judged, I simply cannot allow my husband to bring anything less than stellar, but alas, HE has to make this himself. (and he works with some reall ‘foodies’ too, so there’s definately competition)

Any ideas of some easy, yet absolutely delicious desserts which he can make (feeding at least 50 people)??
