How do I transfer Google Chrome bookmarks?

Asked by Maximillian (948points) July 30th, 2010

Ok, so, on my home computer, I have my default browser to Chrome, with all my settings and bookmarks. Now I have a new laptop, and have downloaded Chrome. Because I use a Google account, I should be able to just access my bookmarks with original setting on my laptop, right? Thing is, I’ve got nothing.

I thought you had to set up the sync option before that worked?

I did the sync, and nothing. I’ll try again though.

Yeah, nothing again.

An alternative is Foxmarks.com, which also syncs to IE, Firefox & Safari

I think I better check and make sure it’s working on my home computer.

I just tried the native Chrome syncing and it worked

I recently had to do this myself. I got some good answers here. Good luck!

You must sync the browser with all your bookmarks to your google account, this is the one on your home computer, and then go on your new laptop and open up chrome and sync again.
