Have you seen the movie, "Primal Fear" from 1996?

Asked by gravity (3116points) August 6th, 2010

With Richard Gere and Edward Norton? It was Edward Norton’s film debut and to me one of his best performances ever. At what point did you figure out the plot? I love this movie and if you haven’t seen it then put it at the top of your list of “to see” movies.

Yes. Edward Norton’s performance was pretty amazing. And to be honest, I can’t say when or even if I figured out the plot; at what point I figured out what was going on. I saw it a long time ago.

Yes, I’ve seen it and thought it was good, but not good enough to watch a second time.

There were literally thousands of people auditioned. Norton showed up completely ‘method’ and blew them away. I remember he was big news after that performance.

What a great few years he had after too. It opened up everything for him: Rounders, American History X, and Fight Club – all in a row!

I gave Primal Fear 4 of 5 starts though. I think I might have figured it out right about when they wanted me to, which is good, but I believe there were some pacing issues/hiccups that took me out of the mood at points.

Maura Tierney has powerful good looks!! (Her and Rhona Mitra share some serious “square hotness”.)

I did watch it some time ago, but i can’t remember really what it’s about. I suppose it didn’t have much of an impact on me then…

Great movie, but I had a head start on figuring out the plot. I’d read the book. ;)

Can’t believe I never saw it. Thanks for mentioning; I’ll order from Netflix today. I’m a HUGE Norton fan. My favorites with him are, as @ipso says, are Rounders, American History X, Fight Club and The Score.

@Austinlad yes, you must see this is you are a fan! I can’t believe the acting from such a novice… it is one of my fave films of his. I really liked Rounders also because the great job he did with the characte Worm. n Primal Fear, I figured the story out very early but only because I was getting my degree in psychology at the time and loved the subject. ok i won’t spoil it for you! watch it!

I loved it and was stunned by the twist at the end. That kind of surprised me cuz I’m usually pretty good at seeing those coming Made me a big Norton fan, I need to line a “Norton Day”, I’ve seen so few.
