Me too. :)

hahahaha I use that all the time. I didn’t know it was. I’ll refrain.

Doesn’t annoy me. Doesn’t annoy my hubby, either. ;)

I don’t have a husband, but when I do, I won’t be referring to him as “hubby” ever

Nah. There are too many other petty and insignificant things for me to get annoyed about. This one flies under the radar.

BoBo1946's avatar

Nope. At my age, that is a really nice word. stick around, you will see by the by and by!

Hubby is nice. Means you are someones.

I would prefer it to not having anyone to call me anything.

^^Sweet answer.^^

I’d never use it, but it doesn’t annoy me. I understand how you feel though. There are certain words that get used that do generate a little shudder.

My wife has never called me “hubby”. i do not dislike the term, but if she reads this question, it could give her an idea. so, lets just forget the whole thing.

Hubby sure beats “him” or “that guy”!

Maybe a little bit. I never have, and never will use it.

Teeth-grindingly so.

If I had to express how I really feel about this word, I would have to invent a new adjective. “Nails on a chalkboard” doesn’t do it. “Shudder” and “cringe” don’t do it. Aagh. I don’t even want to think about it long enough to dwell on it further.

jonsblond's avatar

Men have it made. They get “hubby”...

women get “old lady”. :/

I’d choose hubby over “significant other” every time

casheroo's avatar

I use it when I don’t feel like typing “my husband”. Doesn’t bother me when others use it.

@Cruiser, @woodcutter

What about, I don’t know…husband?

Cruiser's avatar

@Trillian For me the sound of “husband” sounds so clinical even apologetic…hubby at least injects a sense of fun or endearment at the very least.

Hubby
S/O
Hey You
My Man
Beefcake
Better half
Horny SOB
Old Man
Love Muffin
Sperm Donor
Plaintiff #1
Honey
none of these work for me…
I prefer husband or “My Gracious and Sovereign Lord” snickers

OpryLeigh's avatar

Actually, yes I do. I am especially irritated by it when certain facebook friends on mine insist on having their status set to “so and so…loves their hubby very much”. Don’t mind me, just a minor pet hate of mine!

Jeruba's avatar

My husband actually has a name, and I don’t mind using it.

Around here I just say “my husband” in the interests of privacy, but most people who know me also know my husband, at least by name.

Trillian's avatar

@Cruiser that’s interesing from a man’s perspective. I really wish I had someone to whom I could refer_ as ‘hubby”. My marraige was a battleground, so maybe it’s because I was never on that particular level with someone. Here’s hoping that I can do that before I die. I could get to liking the term, and to hell with anyone who didn’t like it.
