How does Fluther recommend questions?

Asked by FireMadeFlesh (16593points) August 8th, 2010

I know Fluther recommends questions for us by comparing tags and keywords with our stated ‘fields of expertise’, but does it re-scan old questions when you add to the ‘fields of expertise’ list?

I just had a question recommended for me that is two months old. I haven’t edited my profile for quite some time, and I haven’t seen the question at all in the last two months. How does this process work?

It’s probably just a bug. PM a staff member and let them know.

I can’t imagine that we’d purposely send you a question that’s two months old. Maybe another member sent the question to you? Or, it’s a bug.

Thanks guys, I was pretty surprised to see it there. It was a great question though, so I’m grateful for whatever bug sent it to me.
