What causes us to get gray hair?

i don’t know. could it be a massive oil spill in your backyard? a teenager? why do we gray so quickly and what causes it? i mean, we didn’t order the gray hair, but for some reason it just pops up.
do you pluck? do you dye? do you cover up? or do you just say “the hell with it” and rock it with confidence in your “coif” or “goatee?”
