Can i turn off the phone usage on the iPhone and still listen to music?

Phones are not allowed to be on during school hours and i can do this on my old phone so does it work with the iPhone. If so, how?

Airplane mode? Otherwise just turn the ringer off.

Yes, as noted, you go to the Settings and turn on Airplane Mode, which disables Phone, Edge, WiFi and Bluetooth. But you can still listen to music, access your camera, photos, notes, clock, calculator and calendar functions.
