Working on a surface on Illustrator CS5 (3D)

Asked by rexpresso (922points) August 12th, 2010

I’m trying to help my 15yo bro do some work on a surface on Illustrator 3D. He drew a hotel and now wants to draw on a wall. Any way to work that wall in 2D? Like a sort of “smart object” (making an analogy to Photoshop…)? Thanks

Maybe you could actually use a 2D tool like Illustrator or Photoshop to create a 2D drawing separately and then import it either as a bitmap or vector object into the 3D illustration?
