Easiest way to link Thunderbird calendars between two computers?

Asked by buckyboy28 (4961points) August 15th, 2010

What I’m trying to do is set up a calendar within Thunderbird on both my home computer and my laptop for school so that if I add an event or task to either calendar, the other will automatically update with the change.

Is there a way to do this? I’m using the latest version of Lightning.

You could use Google Calendar and sync it with both Thunderbirds.

@wilhel1812 I tried exporting it as ical and importing into thunderbird and it didn’t work. Is that not the right choice?

well that will give you a copy of the calendar, what you want to do is that when you edit you calendar, your machine should push the changes to google calendar (or some other online calendar service) and then when you launch thunderbird on another computer, it will check Google Calendar for changes and download the changes automatically for you, keeping everything in sync at all times.
