Good computer monitors?

Asked by LocoLuke (1126points) August 19th, 2010

I’m looking for a 1080p 23” computer monitor with HDMI capability (meaning it has an hdmi port which i can plug into, not hdmi resolution), preferably including speakers. The one I’ve found is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824176159 , which seems to be pretty much what I want, but it’s a bit pricy. Do you guys have any to recommend that fit this general description?

I hate to say it, but that is about average for that size 1080p-capable monitor from a brand-name company. In fact, from what I’ve seen on the shelves, that is a good deal on a new one; that is the sort of price I’ve usually only seen on refurbs.

You may be able to find a lower quality Brand X for less, but I honestly think your best bet is to shop around for a good deal on a name-brand screen.

Would this $165 Acer monitor work for you? It’s on sale until the 25th.

A friend called me shortly after seeing my post and recommended I buy this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009162
I went ahead and bought it, but it was too late to delete the question

Thanks @jerv for the recommendation, but that one doesn’t have an HDMI port.

No problem.

@LocoLuke That looks like a great buy. If you get the chance to post back here with a mini-review, I for one would be interested to hear how you like the Acer.

I’ll tell you what I think of it when I get to my college dorm on the 26th (that’s were the monitor was sent).
