Is it bad to beat the crap out of someone that has wronged you?

Asked by Mom2BDec2010 (2669points) August 20th, 2010

If someone said something really horrible about you or did something just to piss you off or wronged you in anyway, would you fight them?

It’s probably not so good…unless they physically harmed you or a loved one, there’s no need to start being violent.

If I weren’t worried about being arrested I would probably beat more people up. haha.

I shall let no man make me stoop so low as to make me hate him. Now that’s some cool shit right there. Although a kick in the nuts sometimes works wonders also ;¬}

I don’t see it in terms of good vs. bad, but rather practical vs. impractical. If I went around beating up everybody who wronged me—or whom I thought wronged me—I’d either be fighting 24/7 or living in a cell 24/7.

Violence is generally “bad” in my opinion, unless it’s self defense.

It’s not bad at all. Actions speak louder then words. The Ghandi method does not work as well as a good fist to the face. Also, it’s a good stress reliever and a preventive way of developing ulcers. Just don’t let a cop see you do it because it’s considered disturbing the peace. Furthermore, don’t overdue the beating to the point that he will slap assault charges on you or the family memebers could. I guess it doesn’t seem like a good idea now that I think about it, unless you can hide your dna.

I’m with @TheOnlyNeffie on this one.it just seems so costly ;0

Over words? No….I’d like to think of myself as an adult.

What, exactly, would it solve?

talljasperman's avatar

no I wouldn’t

What if they hit back? shudders I’m with @Austinlad on this one. Besides; I might hurt my hand.

daytonamisticrip's avatar

No, don’t fight them. There is to many ways you could accidentally kill them. I just pull pranks that fit the scenario.

The thought has crossed my mind on occasion but it is one better left undone. Instead I would lure them onto the tennis court and humiliate them there.

Mom2BDec2010's avatar

@rooeytoo You’d beat them with the tennis racket? D:

daytonamisticrip's avatar

The only way i fight is for self defense, in which case i am very careful and i am trained to know how to fight without killing.

marinelife's avatar

Do I think fighting in general is the answer to life’s difficulties? No. Would I fight someone? Probably not.

I do think it is bad to seat someone up. Among other things, it is a crime. Provocation does not come into it.

perspicacious's avatar

Sure it is. There are other ways to proceed. Violence is rarely the answer.

End up in the clink YES Not worth it.

stranger_in_a_strange_land's avatar

Only if he physically attacked me. Of course I’ve been an expert at baiting people into doing that ever since I was a child.

marinelife's avatar

Edit: beat not seat.

Seaofclouds's avatar

The only reason I would hit someone would be in self-defense or in defense of my son.

woodcutter's avatar

in the words of the late Capt. Phil Harris…that is bad…bad, bad ,bad

rooeytoo's avatar

@Mom2BDec2010 – only if I have to.
