Why are the names of some of my documents/applications blue?

Asked by theabk (683points) March 5th, 2007
When I open a window to see a list of documents or applications in a folder, some of them are blue (the text), while others are still black. I can't find an obvious common denominator among the things that are blue. Should I be worried?

can you open the files that are blue?

In windows, "blue" typically indicates compressed files. Try selecting the file and getting the properties (right click -> properties), see if "compressed" is checked)
