What type of tv should I buy?

I want to get something that I can watch Hulu and Netflix on, but also ideally hook up to my Wii and dvd player (the wii is the least important part here, though). I have a laptop, so was considering getting a larger monitor to hook up to it, but I want to be able to work on my computer while I’m watching tv, and also don’t want a bunch of cords getting in the way. I read about Google TV when it was first announced and that sounded perfect, but then I heard it’s been delayed a while. Should I wait it out or buy some other sort of gadget to hook up to a normal tv? Or buy a bigger computer monitor? I don’t want to spend a ton of money on something and then have it be totally outdated in a year =P
