Did you have a good summer?

Asked by Frenchfry (7591points) August 25th, 2010

Sad to see it end? I actually love fall. It is my favorite time of year. What is your favorite time of year?

If you call counting the days till autumn a good summer, yes indeed. It’s been brutally hot here for months—106 yesterday. Ah, but a cold front blowing through today is predicted to plunge temps into the mid 90s. Yaaaaaaay.

But yes, it’s been a pretty good summer. Thanks for asking.

I like 365 depending on the weather. Here in UK we can’t expect to see the sun in summer, so i tend to base it on what i did and with whom .And yes, one of the best i’ve had in years :)

This year is passing by far to quickly. I absolutely love summers, unfortunately I got swimmers ear from a jacuzzi this season. It’s when the inside of your ear gets all infected. So, no swimming for me ‘till my ear heals. I wanted to get more beach days in. I want a do-over ;)

@Deja_vu I have has that. Augh! not fun

Yes and no. I’ve had better. Too much stress this summer for our family. I am definitely looking forward to fall though. My favorite time of year. and the stress is gone for our family!

I had a very good summer but am not really sad to see it end as I like the four seasons where I am at :)

Deja_vu's avatar

@frenchfry Not fun at all. How was your summer?

Frenchfry's avatar

Mine sucked.I didn’t go camping. It was very hot. I did spent one weekend at Busch Gardens. That was fun. Other then that nothing special. No beach . The beach is half hour away! Nothing. I didn’t even go swimming. Next year. I am going to have a better one.

For the most part, yes. I had the whole summer off (am a teacher), and did a lot of fun things with my SO. I wish that she had more holidays, though.

Summer went by too damn fast.

Deja_vu's avatar

@Frenchfry Sorry to hear that. At least you have Fall

Frenchfry's avatar

@Deja_vu I am exciting about this fall. Going to Washington DC for vacation ,Halloween, and Thanksgiving.

The weather here has been totally crap, as it has been for about 5 years in a row. But as for personal events in my life it’s been such a fantastic summer that I really don’t care about the weather.

One of the best. I got married and went to Jamaica for our honeymoon! It was amazing.

I had an amazing summer! I was able to travel around, see some amazing sights and places, get some invaluable work experience and make some professional connections, avoid the brutal summer heat (I mostly just traded it for brutal insect conditions), scratch a couple things off of my bucket list, and really challenge myself to try new things. The only big downside was not seeing my family and friends for a few months. All in all, I’ll end up having spent more money than I made this summer, but it was worth it.

Winter is my favorite season, and I can’t wait for it to come around. The sooner the better.

@jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities -I’ll have what you’re having! It sounds like a blast :)

I had a blast this summer out on our boat and getting back on skis was a riot. I love my summer garden and all the flowers and veggies it brings forth. Plus I got to go camping with my boys and also out to a few special places that made some lasting summer memories that I can carry with me.

My summer was okay. I’m really happy to see it go and I’m welcoming fall and winter. My son and I took a big vacation to go see my in-laws and my family. It was a good vacation and it was nice to see everyone, but it would have been much better if my husband was with us. I’m really happy that the weather is cooling down because I really don’t like the heat. The best thing about fall and winter is that they mean we are getting closer to the end of this deployment.

This was a great summer. Spent 8 days in Lake Placid, weather 80’s to 95 degrees. Swam twice a day in Mirror Lake, which totally revitalized me. We have had all kinds of cool day trips the rest of the summer. The weather has consistantly been 80’s and 90’s, dry with tons of sun. The growing season has been 2 to 3 weeks ahead of normal, so tons of good veggies. Everybody in the family has been healthy for the most part. Just wish summer would hang on for a little longer.

Mine was OK. We had so many days that were just way too hot. I don’t have a car right now, and that made it hard to get out and do a lot of the things the kids and I normally do over the summer. However, we managed to have fun anyway. My garden has done pretty well, and our yearly caterpillar-raising is still in full swing. We have black swallowtail caterpillars for the first time, and many of our monarch caterpillars have formed chrysalids. We have tiger moths and tobacco hornworms in cocoons too!

School starts next week, and YES I am looking forward to fall! It’s my favorite time of year!

Don’t you dare speak of the Summer as if it is gone already…I won’t hear it!!!!

Not the best – it was too damend hot and a lot of personal issues came up and hit me on the head.

I had a terrible summer and I’ll even take going back to school if it means the season will be over. It’s always the worst period of the year for me.

daytonamisticrip's avatar

I hate everything about summer except the good thunder storms. It’s hot and unbearable. And i have no one to talk to.
Winter is my favorite, that is when i have the best chance to hear the cousins of the wolves. I love the cold stillness, especially at night. And people at school are calmer.

Seaminglysew's avatar

Fabulous summer, but I to enjoy fall with all the beautiful colours.

I had a great summer… got to travel a bit, play some music, bought some cool stuff, hung out with some good people, camped a lot, met a girl, caught some fish, painted a bit…. Now I’m stoked about an awesome year back at school…. and Halloween.

I don’t want to sound like a debbie downer, but…it was a colossal disappointment. I’m just glad it’s over, now I can look forward to exercising my brain in college, the Triptykon show, and comic con (hopefully I can go)
