Kill all the Seal’s, can’t hunt them then! I don’t mean that, I can’t be serious for a moment. SORRY.

axlefoley's avatar

Wether it’s illegal or not, If their is money involved it will go on. It will go underground! Unforunitley.

i think the seal clubbing is a really disgusting and horrible thing that’s happening.
but…
i think we should stop the man-hunting and wars first. [;

i don’t know too much about the subject besides how harsh they are in killing the seals, but i think it’s similar to trying to end deer hunting. probably not going to happen.

You took the words out of my mouth, Sheriff.

as long as people inhabit the earth, defenseless creatures will be hunted to extinction, look at the Dodo

@Fenian can I ask you something off topic but along the same lines

axlefoley's avatar

I know it’s a sensitive subject to many, so I walk on tip toe’s. Is it not nature takeing its course. Who are we to interfere with nature. I love Seal’s, but i could not eat a whole one.

Hunt the hunters. :]

axlefoley's avatar

If you hunt the hunter’s. Then does that mean, hunter’‘s will hunt the hunter’ s and so on.

delirium's avatar

it was mostly a snarky statement along the lines of “arm bears”

trogdor_87's avatar

you know the seals do cause a problem for the fish population as well. So either way something is going to get hurt. And its not as if all the seals are going to be hunt down and shot. But this is just how I see the matter.

delirium can I ask u something in pm

delirium's avatar

normally one would just ask and see if I respond or not… Although if its pertinent I see no reason to make it private. Its unlikely you will offend me.

oneye1's avatar

I did not want to mess up thread

Anyone mind if I steer this topic back?

How can we stop the killing of the animals that aren’t cute and cuddly? Sharks? The Aye-Aye? The glutinous snail? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a fan of the seal hunt but it is on a scale much smaller that shark fin hunting for example. I think the best thing would be to help create an industry that could serve as an alternative for the sealers. I don’t have any great ideas about the specifics but most of those sealers live in a place where the fish have been over fished and there is rampant unemployment.

oneye1's avatar

do you eat dolphn safe tuna

delirium's avatar

Tuna is not really on my food list. I eat only farmed or locally caught fish as a rule.

WE have not defined the question yet! Are we referring to cute little 25# seal cubs or 1500# adult seal lumoxes? The hunters club the pups and pretty much the hunters should be clubbed right back. The huge sea lions and seals are dispatched with high powered rifles. However I don’t know what they plan to do with the carcusses. The big guys eat the spawning salmon population like popcorn. Only a lucky few get past these eating machines on the major rivers up here in the NW. The sea lions are protected and the salmon are protected. Something has to give. The fish support a lot of industry in the NW & Alaska. The sea lions & seals are big fat blubber buckets, who are fun to watch (sleep, eat & play) but don’t have much industry value. Never seen filet of seal blubber on the menu at Red Lobster

paulc's avatar

@Cardinal, the adults aren’t as cute and as such their killing doesn’t raise the ire of teenagers and celebrities out to show “how much they careā„¢”. So yes, at issue here are the seal pups.

hunters say they need to supplement their income because of depleted fish stocks.

native alaskans been eating seal for years. next time i see a seal im going to club it then marinade it then cook it then eat it up. the babies are the most tender.

oneye1's avatar

and you will have fuel for your heater

axlefoley's avatar

The only trouble I see is, once you save all the Seal’s. People wil next want to save Cows, or Lambs, or Chickens. When will it stop.

oneye1's avatar

well they eat dolphn safe tuna but who will protect the tuna

delirium's avatar

<.< We should be saving the cows. Eating beef is a HUGE waste of energy. Huuuuuuge.

buster's avatar
