Where is the best place to buy a replacement battery for my Macbook?

Asked by troubleinharlem (7991points) August 26th, 2010

I’ve looked all over Amazon, because I can’t afford to get one from Apple (and I’ve heard that they have problems anyway), but most of the batteries have mixed reviews, so I’m not sure who to go with.

Should I just get one from Apple, or do you guys have any suggestions about where to get a new one from?

I would, but I’ll probably be in an “oppressed minority.”

What is wrong with ebay?

I always keep an eye on dealmac.com > Computers > Apple Computers > MacBook.

Today they’re showing an Apple Unibody MacBook 13in. battery for $83 + s&h (versus $129 for the same from Apple [dot] com) new in-box.

I bought a battery for my old iBook G4 from OWC. My new battery performs even better than the original did in its prime. I highly recommend this site.

I would just go with Apple.

I’ve bought plenty of replacements from http://www.newertech.com/.
