What ever happened to Moore's law? Are computers really improving that much?

based on Moore’s Law computers are getting exponentially better.

I bought a core duo… 3.00 GzH computer with 4 GB ram and 640 GB of hard drive space two years ago for $1350… Now looking again on computer sale sites I am not impressed… everything the same except the computer is 3.33 GHZ and Windows 7 for $2,500
are PC’s computers not getting better anymore…when will we get better computers? or are we at the max processor speed?... if not what is the max? where can I get info on new computers developments?
