What are some sounds that you would just love to wake up to?

Asked by ucme (50047points) August 30th, 2010

Yeah, something which fills your ears with harmonious glee. Never mind the pesky alarm & it’s incessent monotonous din. How about a far more pleasurable sound to wake you from your slumber. Birds singing or nubile young water nymphs frolicking naked in the…..ahem excuse me, back on topic. Maybe you’ve woken to some beautiful sounds already. A song perhaps, I dunno. Remember, if you can’t keep it clean, put it away dear =¬)

The sound of waves on the ocean.

NaturallyMe's avatar

All i can think of is birds. As @marinelife says, the ocean would be nice too. Nature is cool.

christos99's avatar

nothing beats the sound of waves crashing, but a rainstorm is pretty relaxing too

harple's avatar

I’m not quite sure how this would occur, but I should like to awake to opera…

rebbel's avatar

Pssst, pssst, hey…, psssssst, rebbel, come on, it’s time to get out.

Austinlad's avatar

Congratulations, Austinlad—you just won 10 million dollars.
Or…
Austinlad, how did you learn to do that !?

ucme's avatar

@harple Nessun Dorma…cough…splutter!! Better leave it to those who can do :¬)

harple's avatar

@ucme ha ha! yes, best had!

@Austinlad how did you learn to do that!?!

CMaz's avatar

I already have that. The sound of the coffee machine.

erichw1504's avatar

Like you said, “nubile young water nymphs frolicking naked in the…” Haha, but seriously I would say a thunder storm because I love them and am always looking forward to the next one.

muppetish's avatar

Rain is the best sound I have woken to and construction is the worst.

I think it would be fun to wake up to the sound of a train, but I probably wouldn’t want to live near one… that could get old fast.

Austinlad's avatar

@harple, by willing myself to wake up five minutes before the alarm goes off. Oh! You must have thought I meant something else! ;-)

ucme's avatar

@erichw1504 Yeah that works too.

Austinlad's avatar

YES—RAIN! Going to sleep to it and waking to it is soooooooo nice.

NaturallyMe's avatar

Oh shoot! I need to change my answer!!! My real answer would be thunder. We haven’t had rain this whole winter so i kinda forgot about that. :) And the rain that goes with it.

WestRiverrat's avatar

The sound of geese flying over the house or the sound of the deer bedding down under my dining room window at night.

Dr_Dredd's avatar

Ocean waves and the gentle snoring of my dog.

Coloma's avatar

My geese mewling in the morning and the birds singing and the breeze in the bamboos on my deck, all lovely, but…I also wake to sheep baaaing down the hill and the neigh-bors, the jackass cruise lines foghorn donkey honking…you have NO IDEA how loud donkeys are til you share space with them. The donkeys are amusing but their braying is not very serene to wake up to.lol

ucme's avatar

@Coloma Oh I love the sound of a donkey. Far more attractive than that of an ass :¬D Seriously though, maybe the novelty of being woken by that would wear pretty thin mighty quickly.For me at least ;¬}

Austinlad's avatar

@coloma, that first sentence sounds wonderful!

Coloma's avatar

@ucme

Oh, I love ‘em deally, but yes, LOUD little asses they are. lol

BUT…far better than barking dogs which I am blissfully free of over this way.

ucme's avatar

@Coloma You got that right.Having said that cats are worse.We have several near us & damn their kitty chorus. If it’s not that it’s fighting, sheesh!!

Frenchfry's avatar

Mine is my husband’s voice and the sweet good morning of my daughter.

Neizvestnaya's avatar

Soft rain and a breeze enough to make branches from the trees tap against the house.

Sarcasm's avatar

The sound of rain is my favorite, or the sound of I just cooked paaaaancaaaakesss.
On the flip side, I hate the sound of an alarm clock, and I hate when people say “Wake up!” (regardless of whether or not I’m asleep).

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

A naked Dixieland jazz band at the foot of my bed.and that’s about it

Cruiser's avatar

To always here the laughter of my children down the hall.

Coloma's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille

You have a rich fantasy life. lolol

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@Coloma -They are coming to your town soon! XD

BoBo1946's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille lmao… you’re not right girl..

Hawkeye's avatar

The sound of no choppers arriving would be nice.

YARNLADY's avatar

My husband turning off the jazz music he has on his alarm. Then I turn over and go back to sleep.

I love the sound of the ocean, and spend as much time in our rented condo on the beach as possible, which is only three or four weeks a year, unfortunately.

Neizvestnaya's avatar

“Wake up sweetie, make coffee and pack a bag because we’re going on a cruise”. There’d be an engagement ring in my coffee creamer or tied to the stem of a rose waiting on my dresser.

Coloma's avatar

Tonight I am going to fall asleep to my girl cat Mia purring away.
It’s going to be an especially happy sound because she just slipped out of the jaws of a Coyote not one hour ago!

We will celebrate the beginning of life 8 and have a discussion about staying out of the creekbed that is the demarcation line for the unsafe wildside over here.

Espiritus_Corvus's avatar

Chirping birds. WInd in the Redwoods and all the other sounds of a deep forest. Big rolling surf. A breeze in a field of dry summer wheat.

shpadoinkle_sue's avatar

@Coloma I’m glad your kitty cat is safe. I’m always worried about that with my puppy.
Right now, the rain. Especially since it hasn’t rained in weeks. When I get my house on the beach, I’m really looking forward to waking up to the sounds of the ocean.

le_inferno's avatar

I love waking up to summer noises… grass being mowed, cicadas in the trees. I love the summer :)

serafina's avatar

The sound of bacon crisping up in the pan, the smell of it is a bonus too.

Ahhhhh Bacon Sammige :)

ucme's avatar

@serafina Yummy for my tummy. Oh & the smell too :¬p

serafina's avatar

@ucme I only get the bacon buzz if i’m NOT the one doing the cooking :)

ucme's avatar

@serafina Yeah, funny how it always tastes nicer when made by somebody else.

BoBo1946's avatar

sound of squeaking bedsprings!

ucme's avatar

@BoBo1946 Pesky rats ;¬}

Dr_Dredd's avatar

@ucme EVERYTHING tastes better when made by somebody else!

ucme's avatar

@Dr_Dredd This is true.

Dr_Dredd's avatar

@ucme Especially true with my cooking.

ucme's avatar

@Dr_Dredd Yeah mine too….who the hell am I trying to kid? I’m no cook :¬D

BoBo1946's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille ummm…the sounds of rain and…......

Nicole8's avatar
