Do you hear the drums?? It’s that time of year and high school and college bands are gearing up….sweatin hard and makin it happen.
Do you remember this one time at Band camp?

Tell me your special moments. disneyworld.
a) i should have never touched ron’s instrument in the pool at band camp.
b) sr girls had the drive and ran faster to get set back up at the beginning, except this one freshman boy, who always beat us. I think he was having a Baywatch moment.
c) College band – drunk with a bass drum is a dangerous sport.
But more fun than you can imagine, or remember.

My only memories of band camp are in the TV, along with the apple pie and Nadia.

All my memories of marching band are great. Band camp on the other hand I have bad memories of. I blame these twin boys who were seniors and harassed me during the midnight march.

I loved my time in marching band. We had a lot of fun at band camp. We went to Camp Pinemere in Pennsylvania. There was a lake we could go canoeing in, a pool for swimming, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and several other things to do in our off time. I loved our shows each year that I was there. Here is the show from my freshman year and here is the one from my sophomore year. It’s hard to see, but in the show from my freshman year, we had these huge cubes made out of PVC pipe and whenever there was a strong gust of wind, it would blow them into us while we were marching. These bring back so many memories.

My sophomore year in high school I had a little mouse following me and at the end of the first song I went down on my knee as rehearsed, and the the damn thing went up my pants. It knocked some points off for the performance but the video is great to watch.

Isaac Litton Marching 100 Band. the very first high school band in the nation to have 100 plus members. made many public appearances, even the Super Bowl. in the early 60s in Nashville. i graduated from Isaac Litton and was very proud of The Marching 100 plus Band. they were very sharp.

I was only in marching band for one year. Junior or senior year, I think. It was pretty awesome. We marched in the Starlight Parade, which was super cool because I used to go to that as a kid and the marching bands were my favorite. The only problem was that the dance team kept speeding up and we had to take super big steps around the corners to keep in line. I liked pep band better.

@Shego A mouse went up your leg?? That’s crazy. Did you scream??

I marched drum corps in 82 in Cincy doing guard, this guy was too close and did a flag move that knocked my hat down over my eyes. I lost my shoe. During that time, you could not fix things, so I came off the field with one shoe and my head so far up tryin to see…..

@jazmina88 of course I screamed. I don’t like mice, rats or anything that looks like them. That mouse had some guts though. I ran to the staging area, where another school was getting ready for their performance, and by that time I was crying hysterically. It was scratching me like crazy, and it hurt. But some of the students helped me strip down to get the mouse out of the overalls. My legs and part of my back looked like I got in a fight with a cat.
