General Question

Would you kindly help me break down this song?

Asked by TexasDude (25274points) September 5th, 2010

I’m writing an electronica/rock cover of Paul Anka’s classic sappy love tune Diana and I’m having a bit of trouble identifying which beat the saxophone melody comes in on. I know it’s not immediate, but I can’t quite figure it out.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the third beat of four, with a grace note (leaning note? not sure exactly on the American term)... But I think he’s late on his first entry!

Out of interest, what is the correct American term for grace note?
