What website should I download music from?

Asked by mollykate (6points) March 26th, 2008

It’s not that I mind paying, but isn’t there a better option than $1.00 per song on Itunes?

I download my songs off of Limewire.com. You can get a basic version, or you could get the pro version which is safer and more reliable. The basic one is free, and for the pro you just have to pay a one time fee which is usually around twenty bucks.

I use the search on Hype Machine and Skreemr. The get me 95% of all the songs (current to indie to underground) that I’m looking for.

hypem.com and skreemr.com

thepiratebay.org for the win! Yay torrents

I believe in paying for music, but not the exorbitant iTunes prices. So I use the seemingly-shady Russian websites (somehow they are legal). They charge about 10 cents a song or 99 cents an album. My favorite is mp3fiesta.com.

I found the easy way to get music for free is to down load off youtube then convert them to mp3s

skreemr.com—its like a google for music search, you can listen to the songs on the flash player before downloading and great for individual songs only.
